Terms & Conditions

  • Our cake pricing are based on cake size and design complexity. All of our pricing is organized by design on our shop page. All of our cakes are covered in buttercream and we do not do sculpted or 3D cakes.

  • Every cake is custom, and therefore has a custom price! There are many things that go into establishing the price of a cake. This can include, but is not limited to, design, size, delivery, set-up, ingredients, and so forth. Accurate quotes are given during consultations and/or detailed email session where we go over your special cake! Please visit our WEDDINGS page to start the process.

  • With a few simple steps, you are able to order your cake, customize it, and book it - all on one page. For most orders we require 5 business days minimum, but we find our weekend dates book up fast! Book early to avoid disappointment.

    Simply, if you go to our SHOP page, you can browse our selection. From there, select the design of your choice. Next, select your flavour/sizing/preferences as the order form will ask you! Add your select to your cart.

    Once your order has been completed you will be notified that it is ready to be picked up at a designated location.

    If you are looking for a wedding cake, or large event cake, we recommend booking 6 months in advance. If your wedding or large event is in May-September, book early as these are peak wedding months.

    If you are ordering a custom celebration cake during the peak wedding season, we recommend booking earlier than the above times to avoid disappointment.

  • For ordering, please use the SHOP tab. From there, select a design and indicate your preferences. Then, add your order to cart. Once you are at your cart, indicate your pickup option. Checkout & pay and you're all set!

    For wedding cakes, start the process by clicking WEDDINGS and filling out the form.

  • For custom cakes, complete full payment upon time of booking through our website. This finalizes and books in your order in our calendar. 

    For wedding cakes, we require 50% deposit upon finalizing your booking. This is usually taken at the consultation/tasting. The remaining 50% is due 30 days before your event date. 

  • LAYERED By Rissa understands that plans can change and we will gladly assist to the best of our ability in making changes to your order date and time when possible.

    For custom cakes:

    • If you are cancelling within 7+ days of your event, we will cancel & refund your order. 

    • If you are cancelling within less than 7 days of your event, and we have started working on your order, we reserve the right to retain 50% of your booking.

    For wedding cakes: 

    • We reserve the right to retain the non-refundable deposit in any case. 

  • Due to the perishable nature of cakes and treats, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accommodate returns once our products have left our shop. We understand that external factors beyond our control, such as transportation and storage conditions, may impact the quality of our goods.

    Should you find yourself dissatisfied with your purchase and believe it falls short of your expectations, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@layeredbyrissa.com within 2 days of your order pickup. To expedite the process, kindly provide the following details:

    • Order number

    • Comprehensive photos of the product, including its packaging

    • A thorough description of the issue, along with pertinent details regarding transportation and storage conditions

    Rest assured, we are committed to addressing your concerns and ensuring your satisfaction with your LAYERED experience. Depending on the circumstances, LAYERED may offer store credit to rectify any issues encountered. Your happiness and enjoyment of our products remain our utmost priority!

  • Pick up and carry the cake box from the bottom only. Never slanted, from the top or the sides.

    Transport cake on a flat surface such as the trunk or passenger footwell of the car. Not on the seat or held on a lap at this can damage the cake.

    Drive carefully and brake slowly.

    In extreme heat conditions, travel with air conditioning on high.

  • Store the cake in a cool dry place, away from sunlight in the box provided. In extreme heat conditions, place cake the refrigerator, removing 1- 2 hours before serving so it can get back to room temperature.

    Cupcakes and other desserts can be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

    Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator or in the freezer .

  • Use a sturdy cake stand at least an inch larger than the cake board.

    Remove any internal supports or non-edible items before serving.

    Use cutting guide for the most servings.

    LAYERED cake and desserts are best served at room temperature.
