MEET TARISSA
Hello, I’m Tarissa (aka Rissa), the founder and Creative Director of LAYERED by Rissa (LBR). I am a qualified educationalist primarily pursuing my God-given passion for entrepreneurship! After five years of casually baking for family and friends, I officially launched LAYERED By Rissa in June 2020. Launching LAYERED By Rissa has allowed me to finally realize a long-awaited dream of mine - to bake beautiful bespoke cakes for weddings and special occasions.
LAYERED is more than creating cakes, our story and brand exist to inspire those who follow our journey to appreciate and enjoy the layers in their life. Appreciate the process, appreciate the contributions, connections, the ups and downs. Ultimately, those layers mold together to become something sweet and beautiful!

OUR STORY
The origin of LAYERED is a manifestation of answered prayers. Coming out of high school I continued baking as a hobby & a hustle. That was until my kitchen aid mixer broke (all my cake artists know the pain that comes with that), so after some thought I decided to stopped baking. However, soon after the pandemic hit, I was gifted with time; Time to finally be able to work on my passion. This is when things started to fall into place and our journey began. LAYERED by Rissa came to be out of the many layers of life and how those layers can come together to create something sweet.
